Hi hope someone can help with a couple of questions about a marea 105 jtd.

1. I have recently noticed that the glow plug light flashes after the car has started is this normal or is there a problem?

2. I have been having problems with the engine management light coming on, when this happens there is hardly any acceloration and I have now been told at last that the thing that sends the signal from the throttle to the engine is faulty (sorry i was told what it was called but i have forgotten) the problem is that i have been quoted £280 for the part only and thaught this was a bit pricey. Is there any one out there with one or know where to get a cheap one any help appreciated.

The glow plug light flashing after start up is indicating a fault, this is nearly always going to be a glow plug gone open circuit or high resistence, replace it and the fault will be gone, no clearing of memory required. As for the throttle fault, could it be the throttle pedal potentiometer? If so then look for the connector at the pedal and see if the terminals are all tight, if not then replacement is necessary.

Ok job done total cost of Parts, Labour and VAT was £114.00

Thanks for your replys. I thiink i will have to get the glow plugs done, £114 doesn't sound to bad. I think my other problem is going the be the costly one.
