Can anyone help, i've got a 2.0 20v marea and in the past week or two been having intermittant gear selection problems, it does not matter what speed i'm doing or which gear i am going for, it seems the clutch is heavy and the gears will not no matter what i do go in, what i have found is that with a couple of pumps of the clutch i can usually get the gear eventually. This can happen maybe for five minutes then everything is fine. any suggestions please . . .

pressure plate worn or broken[spring] iam afraid.new complete clutch required.btw, how many miles has the car done?

The car has done about 92000 miles, wheres the best place to bleed the system and where abouts is the slave cylinder located, best to try the simple things first i guess. Could do without a new clutch . . . . :(

O.K
I try to help you.

You say "it does not matter what speed i'm doing or which gear i am going for"-that mean youre gear sync is O.K
"it seems the clutch is heavy and the gears will not no matter what i do go in"-yore gear oil is the cold.
"This can happen maybe for five minutes then everything is fine"-that affirm previous diagnosis.

Check the gear oil and try change him.You can put the new gear oil with smaller viscosity

p.s-sorry for my bad english

Thanks for the feedback, Its now been over a week since i have had any probs, i'm not sure about the cold gear oil as the problems were over half an hour into a trip out, can this happen ? Should i not be worried or look deeper ?
