Hi all. Well, after 158,000 miles of trouble free service, the JTD105 Weekend has started making low whining sounds from the gearbox. It's had clutch judder for a couple of years and the clutch slips intermittently for the last 35k miles. Combination of Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) on way out and or oil leak dripped down from intake manifold. It hasn't had a clutch since 68k miles. I guess the whining is either gearbox output shaft bearing or release bearing or DMF. I can get at '05 Stilo Dynamic JTD115 gearbox with 48k miles on it. Does anyone know if it will fit? My guess is it would, using my old gear linkage. Also I'd get a taller 5th gear (mine is 2500rpm at 70, Stilos are 2100rpm@ 70mph ish) . Obviously I'll replace clutch, DMF and bearing too. Rest of car is in such good condition, I'd like to keep it. I think I'll swap the gearbox for a low miler, whatever happens, I've been told a multipla jtd110 box will fit, but does it have a taller 5th? I like the idea now you see. Any advice welcomed.
