Hi everyone,

So I got into my Marea last evening just to notice the car won't start...:bang:

Here's what I got so far:
- when key is turned to first position (electricity on) there's a fast clicking noise coming from somewhere under the bonnet. Also the dash lights seem to be flickering fast.
- popped the hood and traced the clicking noise to this black box behind the battery (put my hand on it and I could feel it vibrating as it clicked)

Here are two pictures of the "thing". Does anyone know what that is?

Sounds like low battery/bad contact.
If the engine wont crank over, its bad battery (measure with multimeter, when turning over), or bad contact (engine cranks slowly but batteryvoltage doesnt drop).

Only thing on the starter circuit is the ignition fuse ontop of shocktower (which shoud be fine as you are getting some power, could be corroded as lights are flickering).
Otherwise it is just heavy wire with the ignitonswitch tripping the contactor on starter.

The thing must be something JTD specific (or aftermarket alarm?) as pertol version do not have anything there, only relaybox near the battery is in front of it.

Towbar relay box?

I got the battery out after I took the pics. It was a bit low, so I am charging it now and will see tomorrow if things get working.

Thank you for replying so fast. I will keep the forum posted with the developments of this.
