Hi all,

first of all thanks for looking at my post.
I have a very weired problem with my front wipers and non of it makes sence to diagnose.
I have a marea 1.6 weekend 100 elx auto 1999. yesterday i was driving in the rain at night. the rain stopped. i turned off the wipers but they wouldnt shut off, they got very slow probably from the friction of dry wipers so i had to keep spraying the washer jets to reduce friction. now here`s the weired part:
with the engine running and headlights on, the wipers are on what i think is position 2 setting so they are constant but slow. i can change to position 3 and make them faster but in position 1 they do not go to intermitten and the quick wipe position make the wipers go faster for a few seconds and then resume back to slow constant.
with the ignition on engine not running and headlights on the wipers work fine in all positions and stop in the proper park position and everything functions normal.
with the engine running and headlights off yet again wipers work normally as though they should with no problems. so that eliminates the stalk and the wiper motor.
I cannot figure out what is making the wipers stay on with the headlights on and engine running.
anyone out there ever had this happen, anyone know what could cause this.
any help is much appreciated.

seems to have cured itself. must have been a bit of moisture on the night as its all good now.
