Sooooo, im thinking of making a return :) Im not going to lie,
I miss it so much,

Now my last one had a sad end, the gearbox/diff detonated on me :( and at a bad time so i couldnt repair it,

What are the known/common issues of the 2.0s? because that'l be my next investment after looking at a few, and i want to be prepaired for things to go wrong -.- (As bad as that sounds, its actually a good thing!)

Obviously got to keep an eye on these Cam belts, but any other things?

Cheers
Migs!

If you buy a model with rear discs and calipers, the calipers and handbrake cables etc need regular maintenance as always seem to stick on especially in winter. On frosty nights had to remember not to leave handbrake on over night as brakes would be stuck on in morning. ( ps my car is not garaged though) may be ok if garaged. Also front anti roll bar bushes a pain to change when worn.(common problem)

well i had 3 of them over the last 8 years, never had any issues really, i did always change the cambelt as soon as i got the car though, my first one a gold 98 car had 97k on the original belt when i changed it, i abused the hell out of that i was a regular at santapod and never missed a beat. my silver one was a 02 plater, with 40k onit but that caught fire due a dodgy electrical connection in the fan so i stripped it and sold the spares got all my money back and then got my red one that is owned by another member on here (as you can see in the sig above :)) that one again i changed the cambelt straight away that was on 82k when i got it and was on the original belt too, i also changed the rad, and all the springs, never changed the drop links or lower arms and was the best one i have owned, i always serviced it using selena oil and the propa coolant.

known issues:

99.9% all leak form the rocker cover, not a big job or get power italia to do for about £70

rust, check the inner sills thats where they seem to go, although all mine were very good but then i undersealed then when i got them for peace of mind.

like i say i never had a problem with any of mine apart from teh silver one, brilliant cars, quickish, and sound awesome with a cone filter

Well that's good to know ! :)

Hoping to join you guys again soon, curious question though what's the rev limiter set to on the Marea because I'm not sure and would like to know, I see videos at 7000 and specs at 6500 :S.
