I recently bought a Marea weekend and wanted a dog guard. Much to my surprise Fiat still carried the part (£99.23 tax and delivery included from Glyn Hopkin's online). According to the instructions (in Italian only) it can be fitted either to the roof so it folds up or to the back of the seats so it folds down.

Any recommendations as to which is better in terms of practical use. I am leaning towards fitting it to the roof so it doesn't interfere when I want to load other things but thought it might rattle or vibrate more? Any thoughts?

Thanks, Kerry

I've got the same dog guard and fitted it to the roof.

I didn't know that it was possible to fit it to the back of the seats.
The 2 bigger mounts are fitted in the roof.
And I fitted the smaller ones on the back of seats.
So in my case I have to unclick it from the seat mounts and then from the roof mounts if I need the whole backspace.

The roof mounts aren't holding the dog guard well enough to do without the smaller amounts on the back of the seats.
At least, that was my opinion.

The instructions that came with it say you can attach it to either the seat or the roof and then fold it away but it doesn't fold as per the diagram (too wide to fit in the recessed bit of the roof and too wide to fold against the seats) so I have attached as you did. Thanks, Kerry
