hi all. just found this site and it's very informative and helpful.

I'm looking at getting a Marea 1.6 SX shortly and would appreciate any advice and pointers at what things I should look out for when I go to Inspect it and take it for a spin.

NE usual lekky probs?
Mechanicals - Gerarbox probs?
Wheel bearing probs?
Niggly little squeaks and rattles?

Make sure the oil is clean and that there is no mayonnaise type stuff inside the oil filler cap or on the dipstick (possible head gasket failure)

Also check around the engine bay for dodgy welding I saw a few dodgy motors last week when I was looking that were two cars welded together.

If you suspect anything walk away there are plenty of cars out there

When braking lookout for wheel wobble as replacing warped discs can be expensive if done at a garage.I was quoted £257 for my last car did it myself for £50.

Don't know what else to say I'm no mechcanic....brain hurting now
