Hi guys, i have a fiat marea 1.6 R.reg auto, i want to change the gear box oil and filter but can,t find anywhere on here that tells you how much oil which oil to use or a guide.I did,nt get a manual with the car so if anyone could help me out i would really appreciate it.

Cheers sean (y)

There is no automatic gearbox oil filter, so nothing to change there. That is why you must ensure that no dirt or muck goes down the dipstick hole, by cleaning around it before removing the dipstick and making sure you use a clean funnel or spout if you have to top it up.

There is no requirement in Fiat's service schedules to replace the oil either. Why do you want to change it? What mileage has the car done?

:)

Hi peter,
The car has done about 76,000 miles, i own a jag and a GTO both auto,s and i have always changed the gear box oil at reagular intervals about every 2 years depending on milage, the gear box has moving parts just like an engine so also needs changing, like engine oil it gets thinner over time and loose its use.
I have downloaded the manual now of a post i found on here so got the info i needed now but thanks for replying much appreciated mate.

Cheers sean
