Hello, I have a problem with one of my back brake cylinders- it has been leaking fluid (burst rubber bits on cylinder) and needs replacing, i am planning on doing this job myself but dont know where to buy the cylinder, any ideas? (in north scotland), the car is a - Marea weekend 1.6 2001 X reg with around 83k on the clock. Could i go to a scrap yard and take one off a brava/bravo ( iv been reading how similar the parts are on this forum) or even another marea or does it have to be new? I have only been driving 1 year and dont know much about cars but i do consider myself a bit of a handy man and can do pretty much any repair with instructions (which i have got). any help/advice is much appreciated. Thanks :)

Upadate---------:confused::confused: Got the part and tried to remove old cylinder but when i tried to remove the bolt from the brake line the line snapped right at the joint, So i guess my question is >> can this be repaired easily and does anyone have any tips on how? Also if i took the car to my local garage instead of doing it myself how much would this cost? (rough idea) <<< thinking i maybe not as handy as i assumed when it comes to cars :eek::eek:

Meant to say Thanks for the reply maddogmorg, got the part from my local garage they had a few just lying about (fiat and alfa specialists) . Shoulda asked the cost of them doing the job, hindsight its great!

Update---- getting fixed on we for 70 notes not bad considering parts and labour <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Im happy :)
