Hi does anybody know the timing method for timing the diesel pump on a 1997 Marea 1.9td 100 1910 engine. The pump is a Lucas Ft 09; the adjustment is via elongated slots in the pulley wheel not pump body rotation, I can’t find a possible port to insert a dial gauge like the earlier Lucas 1930 engine pump which was on the top. Any ideas on how to set this up?

I didn't think it was adjustable, as the pump i thought just had a timing mark, or a hole from a drill to put in, as the pump is electronic and adjust itself.... But might be wrong

The only timing mark I can find is on the outside of the belt pulley to line up with the cam belt cover timing mark at tdc, the pump shaft is then adjustable via the slots in the pulley. You mention a drill hole, there are two holes in the pulley about 5-6mm in dia and looking at the replacement pump there is a hole in it’s flange the same dia, is this what you mean for timing lining them up?

Yes, I think behind the pulley theres a cast iron flange, with a cut out or a hole, put a drill in that and it should lock it up when in the right place, As I said I Think
