You guys have a really cool site. I love this.

I have a 2002 Marea ELX and so far I love this car. A couple of things bother me. One of them is every time the car gets wet in the underside of the car (say I go out for a drive in the rain) I start hearing this squeaking sound every time the shocks compress, like when I go over a speed bump. The guys at the dealership have told me that that is one of the defects the car has and it is nothing to worry about. Well, lately it has become louder to the point that people on the sidewalk turn around when my car makes the sound.

Is this true? Has anybody experienced this before? It is getting really annoying, since it rains 9 months out of the year in Costa Rica.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Be Cool.

"The Guys at the Dealership" make it sound like it's part of what you're paying for to get defects..!

There is only one Fiat dealership in Costa Rica and their service department is not what anyone would consider "top of the line". The head mechanic is a nice guy when he wants to and he did an ok job with my Brava when I used to own one.

I am stuck with these clowns until my warranty runs out (which should be by the end of the year) So I have to hear this "Oh, it's one of this car's defects and you have to live with it" crap until december. Problem is, I haven't found any trustworthy mechanic yet.

In the meantime, I will look for where the squeak is coming from and drown it in
WD40 if it doesn't ruin any vital parts of the suspension.
