Hi chaps,

Finally got my speed sensor replaced, got a garage to fit it while they were going a load of jobs for the MOT...

However, I'm sure that the speed reading is wrong. I can be blasting along, overtaking everyone and the speed-o reads 70 (@ nearly 3,000 rpm).

Also going through the road works on teh M60 when everyone breaks for the camera set @ 40mph, I'm doing the same speed as everyone else but my speedo reads 30!

Does anyone know if these things need to be calibrated by FIAT or could it be that they have fitted one designed for a brava/o that has smaller radius wheels (therefore shorter circumference... [stretches memory back to painful physics lessons... speed = erm, mass over friction times by time until lunch? - what did church have to do with it anyway??...])

Any suggestions? :)

Hi
The sensor reads the pulses from the toothed wheels, so unless you have had a major component swap out its unlikely that the sensor type is causing problems......
....unless it is missing pulses due to poor fit, a dirty toothed wheel or wrong sensor fitted. (double reverse logic there ;)) Not sure if it can be calibrated, check with the garage.

I do 70mph at 3200rpm (max torque is at 4500rpm, max power output is at 6100rpm, redline starts at 6500rpm and goes to 8000rpm  )

I hope that the problem will be with your Tyre Size...... I hope that you will be using an up-size tyre than the recommended standard Tyre size.......
