Technical Gear handle problem

my car marea is no problem with changing gear so far. But noise, something like rubbing 2 plastic or rubber surfaces, usually comes from the base of the gear handle whenever I change the gear. Do I need to put oil or something? Advice please

If you unclip the gaiter and have a look first. Sometimes the metal clips fall down inside. If you cannot see anything obvious get back to us.

When I remove leather cover, I saw nothing. quite clean. Noise comes from plastic ball of lower end of handle, I think. Thanks

Its okay OO7! dont panic! what you have is "squeaky gear leaver" syndrome!. my marea also suffers from it and so does my dads.Its an anoying squeak that often happens when its warm ( i.e after use ) and your right it is comming from the gear leaver linkage box underneath the floor.I have'nt got round to checking it out myself so i dont know any more but i dont think its anything to worry about.nothing a tub of grease wont sort out
