injector failure is VERY common on the 1.6, but a scrapyard injector (bravo brava marea) will only cost you a tenner and it is easy to fit.

a good injector is 14-16.5 ohms. any less and i wouldn't fit it (maybe 13-14 ohms if you're desperate). slightly more than 16.5 ohms is fine, but significantly more indicates a fault (rare but something to be aware of).

you can use a 2 hole or 4 hole injector so the earlier 1.6 with a metal inlet manifold is still a suitable donor car, athough in an ideal world you would use 4 of the same type on your car. any 1.6 with a black plastic upper inlet manifold will have exactly the same injectors as your car.

the part number is on eper, but it isnt playing nicely with me today. try it for yourslef maybe it will like you more than me http://eper.fiatforum.com

Hi
I'm also a new member. I live in Bangor NI. I bought a 97 1.6 Marea estate in 99 and have had more or less trouble free and enjoyable motoring until last year, when the dreaded red light came on. As an OAP, I just can't afford a garage to replace the injectors and since I'm no mechanic, have been dithering, eventually buying a Mondeo cheap from a neighbour...........jeez ! Anyway - is there a kind mechanic any where near me who would fit me new/second-hand injectors ? I will pay for parts and labour obviously. The car starts on the button but goes directly to 'limp home' mode. My kids are taking the pxxx out of me and say it'll never go but I'm determined to drive past their houses some day, wind down the window and give them the time-honoured salute..........
