i have a fiat marea weekend 1.8 16v T reg. i bought it without keys, and can get the whole system, keys, ecu, code box from fiat for £700. this is too expensive & i would like a cheaper alternative. i have a second hand lock set and keys-no red key and 2 blue keys. i tried fitting the lock set but the ecu does not recognise the code. is there any way of removing the immobiliser or reprogramming the ecu to recognise the new keys. is there any way of hot wiring the car, as a way of temporarily starting the car because its really difficult to move at the moment and i really want it out of the garage.

cheers for any help

Hi and welcome to the forum :D

The beauty of Fiats is that they cannot be hot wired. I know you don't want to hear that at the moment. There is an emergency starting procedure using the accelerator to input the ECU code but I am assuming you don't have that either.

Try this link, he can reprogram most ECU's for under £200. http://www.codeman.org/

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

When you get sorted put up a couple of pics for us. :)
