Hi all

I have a 1998 Marea elx with electric sunroof. The inside cover of my sunroof seems to be stuck somewhere between the inside ceiling of the car and the roof. This means that the sunroof is only able to partially open. And there is a constant rattle.

Does anyone know the best way to get the cover back out.

I have tried

1. Opening and closing the sunroof
2. An emergency stop

But to no avail.

if anyone has any other ideas then please let me know

Only an idea but...

If you remove the console where the sunroof switch is you will find a key and a keyhole for manual operation of the sunroof. Try winding it shut by hand until it sticks and then try a bent coathanger or similar while trying to wind it a bit more.

Stick your hand in above the cloth 'lid'. There should be a metal flap. Lift that up and the cloth lid will slide around as normal.

Mine's busted too, but it's not stuck. The metal flap is basically just siting low all the time. Haven't investigated.

Sorry its taken so long to reply - I've only just managed to get a dry 1/2 hour to sort it. I don't think I'll have much more need for the sun roof this year!!!!
