Apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't get the exact answers by doing a search. I have a 1.8 Marea weekend and I'm toying with the idea of fitting an induction kit, but would also consider a panel filter if it made a difference. Question is which brand of filter and what type, induction or panel. I had a K&N panel filter on an old car of mine but found no difference at all, but I read the sticky post in the tech section about adapting the existing airbox which was interesting. GSR's seem popular here, anybody ever try a range of induction kits to see what if any difference there is?

GSR sort of do one for the 20V VIS but not any other model of Marea most have made up induction kits with the Filter in the top of the N/S wheel arch and some pipe from the MAF sensor.

The setup alot of people have used is described in this thread. I'm sure the Mareas all used the same airbox setup so should fit but I'd check ther pipe diameters first just incase.

An induction kit / cone filter will be better than a panel filter for sound and slight power increases, I do mean very slight power increases.

The important thing with a cone filter is to eep it away from engine heat, get plenty of cold air to it and tyr to keep it as dry as possible

on different cars I have used Pipercross / K&N / BMC / Green , fave 2 are pipercross and BMC
