I have a 97 marea weekend 2.0 HLX which has performed pretty faultlessly in the year or so that I have owned it (baring the incident when the catalytic converter disintegrated) however the central locking is being very strange at the moment. the remote will arm and lock the car but will only unarm it but not unlock it. this then needs to be done the old fashioned way of using the key in the lock. However when unlocked it will immediately try to lock itself again. So to get in you must catch it when it is open then the central locking will cycle between locking and unlocking about 4 or 5 times until it decides what state it wants to be in. I am slightly confused by this as it only seems to happen when unlocking the car! Has anyone any idea what the cause of this may be?
thanks geoff

it is negatively switched, so there must be a short to earth on the locking circuit. alternatively the relay (behind glovebox) is stuck.
