I just brought a marea weekend and the boot wont open.

Hopefully garage I getting it from will fix it but if not how can I get open it to try and fix it?

How does the boot open? Does the key turn and pop it open? or is there a button you got to push?

I have been looking for a lever in drivers footwell but dont think it got one

You be careful, its bigger than a panda !!!

The weekend doesnt have a lever by the drivers seat, there is a latch on the hatch door. there has been a thread about the bootlock, try searching this forum for it. :)

Mine was broken too, there's a flap between the number plate lights you push up to open it, mine was just flapping about. previous owner had cut a hole in the plastic boot trim to gain access to the back of the lock to get it open. The catches are on either side and you can't get into them with boot closed from inside hence the hole being cut.

I took the lock apart the other day, there was a small spring that had popped out of a locating hole, cleaned the lot up including the hinge for the handle as that was caked up with dirt and mud, re-assembled and touch wood been fine ever since :)

It took me about an hour from start to finish, but most of that time was spent finding hidden bolts holding panel on 2 outside, 2x 10mm nut on inside of boot each end, and 2 or 3 bolts across the width (1 is hidden behind the grommet where lock solenoid attaches) and of course not forgetting the wiper blade.
