Hi there, i am posting on behalf of a work colleague. He has recently purchased a Fiat Marea estate, but it has come to his attention that the 2 front shock absorbers have gone, so he is looking at replacing them. Fiat have quoted him 70 pound each but i was just wondering if anyone has a set of 2 front shock absorbers or if anyone is breaking a marea?

Thanks in advance (y)

Why would you go for Fiat parts? Try finding aftermarket shocks from a renowned supplier (all gas charged type):

- Kayaba (KYB)
http://www.kayaba.co.uk/kayabaeurope/products/33.html
Front
Rear

- Bilstein B4

- Magnetti-Marelli = Cofap (Fiat Group)
Company Web Page

If you're lucky you may find a shop that will sell and change them for one price.

Remind your friend that tracking needs to be set afterwards.

No prob - did I sound harsh? I did not mean to

BTW - I don't think I saw any report on your moving - is there any? A photostory maybe? ;)

HI, I see it's been a long time since the last post here, so hopefully someone can help. Basically I need new front shocks. I have never had to buy them myself before, and there seems to lots of extra bits for the front shocks. What exactly do I need? this is what I found so far.....
Do really need the other bits in the other 2 link?

I live in france an was quoted 544 euro by Feu Vert , for parts/fitting & tracking. If I can get the parts cheap , I have a mechanic who will fit them off the books.

i have 2 second hand shocks for the front, well they are still on my car at the moment, but will be coming off soon for the uprated ones i have just bought, i could part with them for some pound notes lol, they are very easy to fit too, you could do them yourself in about 2 hours if you have never done it before.

cheers

May I know if the Magnetti Marelli shocks any good for the Marea? Any opinions on SACHs brand?

Thanks & Cheers.
