marea jtd 105 engine problem

Need some help if poss, Driving to work and i noticed for a split second the ecu (injector) light flash on, thought nothing about it and carried on driving . BUT then the little bastard stopped right in the middle of an island 15 mins later, light on, just died! AA rescued me and took me to a local garage, after 20mins of being towed, thought id try to start again and it was fine, no miss fires, smoke, anything, perfect start. But thought id leave it with the garage just in case, good job as just before i went to collect it they found it will run for 15 min or more then just stop and you will have to wait 20 mins for it to start again. When it wont start the ecu light is on, but they cannot get any fault codes out of it. Bugger! any ideas anyone, i have a small list but i think it must be an engine sensor as it seems to be affected by heat, so:

cam phase sen
crank sen
rev sen? (seen it on another thread, did they mean crank)
?????? etc as its a diesel and im a petrol man.
