thinking of changing timing belt on marea, when do u suggest to change?. car done 43,000 miles only, and will i need the red key if battery took off? coz read here that u do and dont! many thanks in advance.

I had my 20v belt AND tensioner changed without a red key for about £450, never needed it .

Get the belt and tensioner changed as well as water pump (i didn't), probably every 3-4 years or 50,000 miles to be on the safe side, as i have the tensioner go on a Bravo and had to scrap the car, the day before it was to be traded in :-(

also my JTD cost me about £150 to get both changed

Theoretically no, I have changed the battery without a problem either on the ECU or the radio.
