Boo hoo.

There's one less Weekend on the roads now.

I just wrote mine off in a head-on collision at the weekend. Nobody hurt except the two cars involved. My fault, silly a*se. Going too fast on a single track road.

Anyway it's a 1.6sx Weekend (front end obliterated) & waiting to be collected for scrap.

Meantime if anyone wants any bits that can be very quickly & easily (I stress easily) removed, then let me know VERY QUICKLY as it's getting towed shortly. (& no, sorry, the door handles are shot just like everyone else's).

It's in Glasgow but I'll post bits if you reimburse me.

Cheers,

Stewart

Trying to post a pic for 1st time. Don't know how successful it will be.

1. Bonnet catch will be dead, very dead.

2. I don't know what your rear no. plate light looks like but I'll pull one off anyway (light that is) & try to upload a photo.

OUCH! Sympathies for your loss.

1997 Marea 2.0 20V saloon

1. Photos of the rear no. plate lights. These were actually mounted in the tailgate above the no. plate & not in the bumper so I'm not sure if they will be any good for the Punto. I have the two. They will need an aperture of approx 87 x 27mm and are approx 104mm overall length. They need an oval shaped two pin (socket) connector which I unfortunately didn't have the foresight to cut off with a flying lead, sorry.

2. Unfortunately I didn't have the time (or the knowledge) to remove the centre console from the car, so you'll have to try & find one at a scrappy more local to you, sorry.

It goes into the scrappy today. Bye bye Weekend.

I'll be off this forum & onto the Citroen forum if I can find one as I've just bought a Xantia estate TD. Wish me luck.

Is the Passenger side mirror mount in good condition? (The Black bit that attaches to the door and the mirror sits on)
If so can i have it please

Sorry to all.

It has now gone to Fiat heaven to rust forever beside the Chromas & Mirafioris.

Why couldnt you have been reversing too fast along there? I want a new bonnet;) .
Great you are OK and the Marea proves a safe car, did the airbag deploy?

Bizarrely the airbags didn't deploy!!! That crossed my mind a couple of hours afterwards. I'd have thought they would have .

I'm now in a really bizarre situation. I had it carted to the street outside a coachworks that I know & had them give it the once over ("Yes, it's dead"). They offered to have it collected by a scrappy but I wanted to try one or two others to see if I could get a few quid. No takers so I phoned coachworks @ 4.15 to accept their offer only to be told it had been uplifted 30 mins previous!!!

I thought "Fine, who cares" then realised they could now go ramraiding or such in a clone car & I'd be in the frame!

Called council & police & the scrappies I scoped but none of them have it, so I've had to report it stolen! That was a lesson in patience with call centres.

So now I have to report it to DVLA too. (I had left the V5 & the keys in it for whichever scrappy I chose to lift it).

Hey ho. I'm now scoping the Citroen forum & I need to check the fuel pump on my new Xantia.

Apparently if it has a Bosch fuel pump I can start running it on waste vegetable oil from the chippy!!!

So when you think you can smell roast dinners in Glasgow, have a look around for a burgundy Xantia estate. It'll be me!

All I have are the two rear no. plate light units.

Oh. & all my happy memories.

Sob
