HI everyone trying to find out for a friend who has no computer where the intermitten relay for the front wipers is on a fiat marea? thanks:bang:

Hi pop,

The timing relay is located at the motor itself (the square-ish box with white cover).

Should there be any problems with wipers in intermittent mode, take out the whole motor assembly by unscrewing the wiper arms, taking off the sill (the black plastic stuff, fixed with several screws and clips) and unbolting three bolts.

Once into that, disconnect the connector and take the whole assy home for further disassembly.

Warning - do not unscrew the central nut under the gerabox!

Prise the relay's cover open, wipe the contact paths dry and gently sand the runners. Open the motor itself and clean the comutator (sand it carefully) and brush holders (use cotton sticks and vodka for that purpose) so that brushes move freely up and down (not losing these tiny springs).

When done, re-assemble the motor, replace cover, then clean and lubricate all ball joints and wiper rods (undo the c-clips that hold them) with whatever bearing grease.

Re-install everything in place, throw away these bloody green clips that won't go back where they belong, fix wiper arms and enjoy your better-than-new wipers!

Thanks for the reply will let my mate know, many thanks.
