there's no real point to this, just have a look and post your comments.

I'll be impressed if anybody can spot what car the kit is from,
I'll post a photo of it later so you can see if you're right.

It's amazing what one of these cars could look like with a bit of work! how much do you guys reckon it would cost to do something like this?

marea's rock!!!!!!!!:slayer:

Hi

I got a quote for the tints (inc front windows) for £280 local.
I've seen cars they have done though and they are pro jobs.

The mesh wasn't meant to be there really, the bumper I took the rear part from had a huge hole in it so had to fill it with something, tried to fill it in silver but it looked funny.

ps, it's not a punto, or any fiat infact, thick more expensive,,,,,,much more expensive. sure you could get the same effect with any kit, it just happened to be the first silver car picture that came up on google from a nice side angle that i could cut and paste from.

i'll never get round to doing anything liek this, i can dream though, but i will get some nice alloys and the windows done at some point.

There's not alot of anything for the Marea, especially in the UK.
Zender skirts are hard to find but in my opinion really suit the car( but then I am biased). Bravo/a are shorter in wheelbase and in track, however the HGT is the same track.
There is company called Lester that do some Marea stuff, try www.lester.it and have a look.
Most the work on my car has had to been done as one of custom jobs, very expensive and time consuming to do, especially as I prefer subtle enhancements that aren't immediately apparent.
Good luck with your Marea.....

had a look at your photos and it's a nice motor! I know what you mean about the little touches though, I like that you've smoothed the tailgate which must look smart. The first thing I will do with mine is colour code the mirrors, door handles and bump strips. I think it's best to get that stuff right before spending £500 on some wheels, or it will just be money wasted.
I have to agree with some of the comments though on the white alloys, depends on what look you're going for really I suppose, they are quite 'rally' stylie. ou of interest what size are they, and what tyre width/profile etc. just trying to figure out what i need to fit right as there isn't much room for error at the rear arches, they are quite narror on the marea in relation to thier height. I was think 205/40/R17 would do it.

Love the idea of sealing the back doors liek in one of your pics, that would be great as i use it as a van anyway!

ps, the skirts do look very good on yours, how much did they set you back?

My wheels are 7x17 with 215/40/17 tyres, I bought them 6 years ago and had them redone in white as they needed doing, got lots of plans for the car just no money, doing up the house. When its done it should look rather tasty tho' and very unique.
Oh yes had the rear arches rolled aswell, they can cause problems with tyre rub with a full load..

That's what I was a bit worried about, the effect of a full load.
I use the car most of the time just as a family car with usually only one small child and the shopping to go in the back.
But I am also a mobile DJ and on occasion pack the poor thing with 2x 1000W speakers, a 25kg amp, 8 boxes containing various lights and cables, metal stands and bars, oh, and 23 tonnes of CD's!

I used to do this in the escort estate and the back end was almost on the ground so I put in some of those rubber spring things that you use for towing caravans. It did the trick and it handled like a sports car even with a full load, but with no load it looked like a dragster with it's arse in the air!

That said, the wheels never rubbed in the escort (15" alloys) and the
standar fiat wheels don't rub either (185/65/14) so i suppose what i need to do is make sure i don't make the overal diameter any bigger when buying alloys for it.

I found this handy little thing on the net:
http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html

According to this, a 205/40/17 will be an exact match for my standard wheels, not even 1mm out, so that's what I'm going to go for. (y)

Now, it's just finding some I like! i LOVE the 17" stilo ones that Ben has for sale in the adds section but the tyres are just a few mm too big, damn!

i'm liking that bodykit mmmm!!will have to go lookin for a kit for my 19 td just tried lookin for a rear spoiler for my weekend but carn't find one does anyone know were i might find one. oh love the 3 door weekend how was that done ?cos i think that's superb.(y)

Hi, just a shame it's made up! (well, cut and paste from a porshe photo)
still, all it takes is money.

Now, I know I've seen a spoiler for the weekend for sale somewhere,,,,

here you go matey,
quite fancy one myself apart from i use the roof rails fairly often and it would get in the way (I had the same problem with my escort)

http://www.edirectory.co.uk/pf/page...t+merea+rear+spoiler+unprimed+weekend&cid=880

Can maybe get one cheaper, but this is the first one google found.
I would think you could get one for closer to £80.

But where is the spoiler?

hey, that's the same link I used, copy cat! hehe

well the fact that we both linked to the same page means only one thing, there aren't too many places doing them!

as for 'where's the spoiler' errrrrr, oops?

to be honest, the original photo is from an ebay add (2.00 20v, think it has been sold now) and it didn't have one, i couldn't find one to cut and paste onto it at the right angle. could always draw one on!

Chrisfunk if your worried about lowering your car and being fully loaded then be very carefull what springs you go for. Try and find a set of Eibach springs they are the best you can get. They do them for all the Marea but they don't recommend them for the 20v weekend, having said that I am currently running PI springs which so far seem to be working OK! However I had these springs on my previous Marea and they started to weep after a year, I then changed to Eibach and ran them for 3 or 4 years no probs, carrying 3 adults and two kids with usual stuff that goes with kids, with that load and travelling well.. well.. past the legal limits without bottoming.
The two door Marea was actually done with Corel Draw, abit like Photoshop but alot better, it's what I want to do if I can ever afford it that is.
My next job on the car is to redo the smothed tailgate and re-install my rear light conversion, if I can rebuild it all, then modify the front bumber. Then will be looking at modfying my exhaust for the third time.

Hi chrisfunk, nearly went to see hellcats jtd130 from previous owner, but he had just bought it!!! Low and behold same weekend found another weekend jtd 130that is, following weekend picked it up light blue met, fsh, leather 70k, then following week Wrexham-Edinburgh-Wrexham 520 miles, 50+ mpg 265 miles in 3.25hrs on way back. Not bad four a 2.4! Cars are hard to come by amd low mileage decent colour and spec even harder. 3-4 months looking regularly and 10-12 months now and again! Not seen 1 in N Wales. Excellent car.

In all reality, I will never get into any serious modding with this car.
I love the idea of doing all this stuff with skirts and bumpers but it will never happen due to not having the time or money, also I could never have the car off the road getting all that bodywork done. :(

I'm just getting into photoshop. My girlfriend is a designer and uses it for her work so that's why I use it. (it's CS version 9 which is apparently the full profesional version (y) ) I might try Corel though if it's good.

No, the best I'm going to get is the few 'quick fix' additions you can do, so it's wheels, tinted windows, a spoiler maybe and I would go for some poly headlights if i found any going cheap.
I don't think i will be looking to get it lowered though, I'll match the alloys to the size of the originals and leave it at that. It's a family car at the end of the day so I don't want it too look to "come race me" especialy as it's not just me that drives it and i don't want some t w a t in a Nova GTE driving up it's arse when my girlfriend and daughter are using it.

what does everybody think about some 17" wolfrace kendos? (n) (y)
are they too OTT? I think they would be ok with a fiat centre cap.
If they are a bit too mad for the car I'll go for something like the others, I think estate cars always look better with multispokes rather than 5 spokes which look a bit boy racer, unless you have an audi then they look sweet!

The cars a 1.6 in that funny dark silver colour. (not the 2.0 ltr in the pic unfortunately)
