Hi, hoping for some assistance with a rather odd and unexpected problem.
It seems that the fuse for the driver window control panel in my Linea Emotion has blown. Unfortunately the driver window was open at the time, and now I cannot close the driver window or operate any of the other windows.

The dashboard fuse box is NOT where the owner manual says it is, and other references on the web indicate that the fuse box is in the glove compartment. I took a peek, and there is something there with a metal clip, but I have no idea how to release this clip without damaging something.

Somebody, please help!

Hi

Its not uncommon for the wiring at the door hinge to fail :(

My windows failed through broken wires.. no fuses blew

Unplug the big chunky connector..
(The Grey plastic arm moves a gear..to undo the plug.)
Then peel back rubber sleeve

I had a similar thing happen. The door wire harness somehow got stuck under the power window, and when the window was fully lowered, it physically unplugged the plug you see in the post above (left picture).

Unfortunately for me, the power window was "stuck" in the bottom position and was pinning the wire loom inside the door and it wouldn't reach the "car side". Couldn't lift it by hand even after removing the trim from the door - it was held down by the mechanism.

So I had to use a bit of force with a long stick (dust brush :D) to push the loom from under the window to be loose. Then when it got loose, I was able to plug it back in and wind the window back up.
