AC stopped working last Oct. When I went to the service center, they simply topped up the AC gas as they were not able to find any problem anywhere in leakages.
In 2 weeks the problem reappeared and now they asked me to replace the evaporator coil.
They are quoting Rs 15000 for this.
Some of my friends have suggested to take it to experienced AC car mechanics.

Can someone refer me to quality AC car mechanics in Bangalore?

When trying to diagnose air con leaks it might not be possible to find the leak, so the only option is to regas the system and add some UV dye to the gas so if it does leak again, the dye will also leak out and can be found with a UV lamp.

This is likely what they have done and traced the leak to the evaporator. Converting 15k INR to GBP sounds a reasonable amount for this work as the eveporator is buried down in the heater box which, when the car is built, is generally one of the first things installed, and so requires a lot to be removed to get anywhere near it.

My AC runs alright for 10 min and goes warm. If i switch off the AC and turn it on again after 10-15 min, it comes on again for about 10-15 min and then goes warm again. I'm new to Bangalore and would like a reliable place to take it to. The workshop I took it too turned purple looking at a 16 year old Palio. Would be really grateful to be advised of a good Palio workshop/ person and a good AC Mechanic who knows the car. Long time since Ive been here; nice to be back!

this could be a problem with a damaged clutch coil or too much pressure in the system
