Sumpguard

Hi everyone,

Since my last modification was fun and games. I am considering to fabricate a sumpguard from sheet metal. If anyone has place to get one i'd be very much intrested since i've not seen any.

I am considering to put 2-3mm mild steel, under the motor and 1mm aluminium or even plastic on the wings in front of the tires. Bit thin but not meant for serious offroading. Main reason I am looking into this is the packed snow during winter. Linea has quite low ground clearance and getting stuck will be problem. An flat surface on the bottom will help that. And also the noise isolation is a plus.

Any considerations or thoughts? Any one got measurement for the connection points under the engine? Or done a similiar modification?

Enjoy my mad pain skills.

Re: Sumpguard

I've got a metal undertray on my Bravo, i got it from this site

Take a look for the basic shape.

Mine saved my oil pan quite a few times.

I would not bother with the sides.

Re: Sumpguard

I have no idea on shipping in EU.

They did ship it to me.. inside the country, 4 years ago when i bought mine..
Contact them by email. they should be able to get you a quote about shipping, total price etc.

Quality was OK, bolt holes fit straight up(but i did have to buy a few screws-longer for easier installation), the paint could be better, but then again... i could repaint it any time..
In the meantime i have scratched it on rocks, ice..concrete..etc so the bad paint job no longer bothers me... it has some surface rust now.. but is still great.

Re: Sumpguard

I bought mine (Panda 169) from them, they ship to France, Belgium and elsewhere.

Very pleased with it.

Re: Sumpguard

@bernie interesting...
But as long as the car comes stock with some kind of sumpguard... then i would think it is actually required for better airflow through the engine bay/radiator/intercooler.

Keep in mind that it doesn't cover up all holes.. there are still massive open spaces for air to move out of the engine bay.. right after the undertray/sumpguard.

Re: Sumpguard

I requested a quote. The pointed me towards their international site. There the price is double compared to their Romanian site.
