New Fiat 500 !!

Very interesting video.

Truly horrible colour combinations inside there though, perhaps they are just playing?

Obviously a gussied-up Panda.

I love this little car, and the Abarth will doubtless be fun - but a price range of between £11000 and £15000 - I don't see the quality of materials to justify this?!

And I don't like black. Where is the light blue one with the cream dashboard, like the one my Italian friend drives? I know - light blue is going to be a very popular colour and Fiat is majoring on it - GOOD.(y)

In this Planete Fiat forum thread there's a link to a PDF file with specifications, interior trims and paint colours:

Using Google to translate Italian into English reveals that there will apparently be three engines initially (1.2 8v, 1.4 16v petrol, 1.3 Multijet 75 diesel; all Euro 5 compliant) plus two (I think) main trim levels (Lounge and Sport) together with a list of optional extras including foglights, automatic climate control, parking sensors, electric "Sky Wind" sunroof, red brake calipers for the 1.4 16v, "Interscope Sound System" hi-fi upgrade, chrome plated wing (?) mirror caps, Dualogic automatic gearbox for the petrol engines (not yet available), Blue and Me sat nav, etc.

Looking good! :slayer:

Have Italian prices been revealed yet.

Fiat claim it is selling well (They would say that wouldn't they)

Fiat SpA received orders equivalent to a month's production for its 500 model, due to be launched July 4, during the first 12 hours, said CEO Sergio Marchionne in Sunday's La Repubblica newspaper.

How much are the Italians paying for the little blighters?:D

Nice touch:

Available after the launch.
Diffuser of fragrances (50901710 black, 50901870 ivory) The diffuser of fragrances is an innovative object, inserted in the centre console, it emits pleasant smells to the inside of the car: fragrances: "agrumata summer", "essence of the night", "fresh air".
The customer is able to select the power of the fragrance with two buttons "+"and "-" and to show the level of fragrance there is visual distribution through three leds

I suppose, if you smoke, or vomit in the car or spill milk a lot, but...?

Anyway. Looking at the choice of interior colours, I was not much impressed. I seemed to see shades of grey or dark blue. What about the red, or light blue, or any of the other myriad choices supposed to be available? Later I suppose.

I like the light blue paint though, and the white.

This is a very charming little car and should sell in bucketloads. Now, let's see the prices...oh, and how soon before the new twin cylinder turbo motors, does anyone know?
