Hello,
Im new here but I need help.Ive just bought a Fiat Uno 1.0 i.e start. Its my first car but I've still got a few months before I can drive so I was wondering if anyone knew of cheap bodykits for a Fiat Uno thats on sale.

Having owned a Fiat uno 1.0 ie start for a year now, I would have to ask the question why?!

The only Uno (except turbos) I have ever seen to look nice is bushboy's from here, you might like to look into talking to him because he might be the guy to speak to. If i were you, I would concentrate on learning to drive (minimum 3 months) at the moment which is expensive enough. Paying for your insurance is also a large cost. (approx 1,000) Adding mods to that doesn't exactly help your insurance unfortunately.

To be brutally honest, you will have to accept that your 1.0 uno won't be a race car and has pretty awful performance - I drive one daily! If you want to modify your car for looks and for example ICE, then you will get a benefit out of it, however, the 1.0 uno will never been a fast car to show off!

Whatever you do, best of luck with learning to drive and getting on the road with your Uno. Do watch out with costs, modifying will just make it even worse!

lol... Unos are speed demons! .,.. no really.. they are awful :p I have seen the light with my cinq heh. although i do still love my uno but now i have my cinq i realise how outdated and terrible it was, although the cinq isnt exactly indate is it...

There are NO cheap bodykits for the uno. the only ones avaliable are the wide arch kit from Avanti Motorsport and the kit(s) from Lester (or italy) which aint amazing but will make the car look lower and still look cool. this has to be imported from italy tho and so isnt cheap either.

I personaly thin kthe uno looks great with its original bumpers. Just body colour them and ur laughing. The unos original styling is perfect on its own (in my opinion) although a good lowering and some 15" alloys do make it looks 10x better. You might want to opt for a mk1 turbo boot conversion. this is the boot with the little lip spoiler. its far nicer than th MK2 boot or the original MK1 boot. You will need to get this proffesionally done as the bolts are all wrong (although the actual lid fits the same shape of the car.

Theres alot u can get for an uno tho. not to much styling wise (although u can always whack a universal spoiler on like i did) as bodykits are either nonexistant or too expencive to be practical (ur looking at kits that are double the worth of the car...). Alloys aint hard to find and a trip to ur local halfrauds will get you some nice ones. Mine were fox EVO3s.

I have to take isssue with Unos being referred to as awful here. They certainly are not awful. A looked after Uno will provide cheap, reliable transport and they are as nippy as any comparable car. As a first car they don't come much better. Parts are cheap, an idiot can work at them and they are easy to drive.

A good choice Sparco.

I do agree with the Paul about adding bodykits though. It's a small hatchback that does 0-60 in around 16 seconds. You'll embaress yourself!

Treat the Uno as a cheap first car with which you can build up some no-claims. A standard Uno is spot on as a first car: they're a piece of p*ss to work on, the engines and gearboxes are surprisingly tough, and parts are dirt cheap. Plus, because they're light, Uno's aren't all that slow; my old 903cc Uno could quite easily outpace a new-shape 16-valve Micra, a 1.2 Nova, and a 1.0 Corsa. :p
The only mod I made was fitting a decent stereo and speakers - which I took out when I sold the car and put them in my Punto.

Instead of rinsing loads of cash modding it, save the money and, once you've had a couple of years' driving experience, buy yourself a quicker car. [8D]

Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping to keep the 1.0 litre engine for a couple of years and then uprgrading to the 1.4 trubo one. I don't want it done up to much like.The car is in great nick and has only done 65k on the clock. It had brand new alloys on it already and a Blaupunkt (if thats how you spell it?) cd player in it already. A mate of mine has already agreed to spray it for me at a very cheap cost. One reason I bought the car in the first place is was because I would be different.Every one in the area here has either got a Vauxhall Corsa,Nova or a Citroen saxo or any of the other popular small hatchbacks. All I wanted is sumthing that would be different to the rest and when the Uno popped up for £600,I couldnt argue and I bought it. Bushboy, that Uno is a beauty fair play. Is that just a standard Turbo bodykit with a universal spoiler.Id be quite happy with the way that looks definetly.

nah its just the standard MK2 kit. no turbo here! although i did want the turbo wheel arches!

I take back my comments on saying the uno is awful.. its not really. my uno just left me on bad terms lol... few annoying things going wrong etc... its lucky i got rid of it since. the new owner has told me its gonna need a new clutch and new wheels bearings (if thats the prob with the whole front left wheel rattling) heh.

Your bumper is what makes the car look good, i hate modding in most cases but it looks ok in my eyes (that's good, honestly, i dislike modding in most cases). It gives it that "mean" look!

I knew he was 16 and hence was impressed by his work! Wouldn't look right on my car without alloys etc. and just like my car the way it is.

i think the mk1 grill is really nice... specialy on the mk1 turbo.. the standard mk1 just doesnt look right IMO. even tho its probably exactly the same lol.

I dont like the MK2 grill as standard. its boring. i love it modded like i had it (hence the reason i got it modded).

Hello,
So if i wanted to spray the car a different colour,the black looks very tempting,would I just be able to spray over the original bumpers any colour I wanted. Also,Bushboy,you know you lowered your car.I was just wondering if it was possible for you to have a full car without the rear arches rubbing.Thats a problem I'm worried about because I'm most likely to have a full car most of the time when I give my mates lift.I don't drink and I'd rather give them a lifts instead of one taking the risk of having three pints and then driving see.Cheers,

yeah you cna spray em any colour. just give em a good rub down (with sand paper) and then give it 2 coats of primer and then 2 coats of the colour and then a coat of laquer.


on the rear 60mm springs the car rubbed on a full load over bumps. my car didnt have any bump stops tho and so there was nothing stopping it from being really low. on the 35mm springs it was fine with a full load. ude be fine with 40mm
