Hi all, I'm very slowly restoring a 1988 Regata 100 Sie, and the suspension and brakes really need replacing. I thought I'd put some classic superlite wheels on at the same time.

The problem is, I have no idea where to start. The rear has a transverse leaf spring and I've never heard of replacements/upgrades for transverse leaf springs, and I don't know of any brake types that will fit.

Of course, I haven't started looking yet, but being in Australia my options will surely be limited. There's only one garage (that I know of) here in Sydney that I'm prepared to take it to, but that will no doubt burn large holes in all my pockets.

I'm hoping to get as much head-start advice from here as possible. Also, anyone had experience with superlites on Fiats?

Many thanks in advance.

If I remember rightly, the Strada used a transverse leafspring rear suspension. It might therefore be possible to use the suspension from a Strada Abarth as the Strada and Regatta are from the same era. If you are lucky you might find they interchange with each other! Only problem is that Strada Abarths are now very rare and sought after :(

Other than that, I don't know what else to suggest as I haven't seen a Regatta on British roads for a long time and have only seen one for sale in the past couple of years.

Good luck!
