The Stilo is in a low group as it is perceived as a car that older people will drive. The Alfa 147 was the true successor to the Bravo/a. Fiat have moved away from producing visually exciting cars, Alfa now do that. Fiat are building cars that will sell and are unhindered by Italian style which doesn't sell well outside Italy.

James M - the high premiums in NI have remained despite the reduced threat from paramilitaries. Compared to the mainland UK we pay a lot more. It's the insurance companies way of turning a bit of extra profit with a "legitimate" excuse. Also, a lot of UK insurance companies won't quote here, so we don't have the choice you have and that pushes prices up as well.

The Stilo is cheap to insure because it is a cheap car to repair, its something to do with its design, I can't remember where I read it, but it is true! This is a trend being followed with many cars, the focus is quite cheap to insure too, the 2.0 Zetec is in group 7 or 8.

I have a beast of a 115bhp JTD 3 door Stilo...
I'm 19 btw and have no claims bonus until May (when i'll have 1!)


Did someone say that the Stilo is perceived to be driven by Old people and that Fiat are dulling down they're cars because we are dull people outside of Italy??????????

Have you seen a 3 door Stilo?!?!!? Especially my Stilo :D

I admit that most people outside of Italy are dull cos they buy Vauxhalls and FORDS!!! But that doesn't mean Old people drive Stilo's
and it doesn't mean Fiats are dulled down.

The Idea is good looking (more so than the Meriva and the C-Max Crap)

Did anyone mention that the seats in the Idea can turn into a bed and a proper double bed at that?

Any mods on that Jetweed? Thats a fairly hefty premium;)

Directline won't let me put 17's on mine or fit the sideskirts aftermarket:( And I couldn't wait on a factory order:( Never mind, there's always time!

You got your car from directline right? If you don't mind me asking, how much did it come to with all the options?

hey well i think i have something to laugh at!! i am paying £1700 fully comp on a punto 1.2 mk2 with tesco!! that is with no points but also no no claims bonus!! i am 21!! mind you it might have something to do with where i live!!:D

mk2 punto in white, blue interior and more neons joining the car every day!! looking for ideas!!

Premium should be coming down in May to about £1200 (£95pm)

15K is a fair old whack like!

When I was looking around, it seemed Jamjar were cheapest for a basic car (9600) but others worked out cheaper for extra's.

What was the base price at the time you bought it?
