Hey All.

I have a few standard cinq manifolds that have been modified to have a t15 turbo bolted to them. I have copied a Van Aaken modified manifold that came on a VAD HB turbo cinq I bought recently. I jus wanted to find out if there is any demand for them before I start making more. Also I have taken all the parts from the kit to a guy I know at a local machine shop who will be making all the parts again so I can have 2 cinq turbos. I can have more made afterwards if there are people who want to turbo their cinq. Also the kit I am having made includes a set if standard pistons machined to lower compression so you will only have to find a T15 turbo, an intercooler, a second injector and a injector driver such as an MF2. If anyone is interested send me a PM.

Arc on the link for your manifold and turbo it went for £98?? Yeah I can see what your saying about people not being able to insure a turbo-oh well Ill just get the two kits done then.

This is something that is on my radar for the future and as I am old insurance isn't such an issue,

I think more people might be intersted in a complete kit or at least the supply of the special items (manifold, pistons, TB bob, front pipe ) and a list of where to source the rest of the parts and suitable part numbers

I think the problem most people have is that this is virgin ground and can be very expensive if you use trial and error & get it wrong, I think this is what puts most people off rather than insurance.

It would be good if you could give a ball park figure of what this would cost in fact go one step further and offer the full package with all parts and fitting instructions, you could then be a forum legend

If you developed a turbo kit for the 1.2 16v fire engine then ide be very very interested, as im sure alot of punto sporting drivers would be (y)

1.2 16v isn't worth boosting, without lowering the compression with forged pistons.

I was thinking about offering a complete turbo kit for the 1108cc FIRE if I thought I could sell them. After buying and working on a VAD high boost I was not that impressed with the installation and I would hope to better it if I make a kit. The kit I was thinking about making will include:

Megasquirt ecu setup to get engine running(I will supply details on how to complete the map once fitted). This will be setup run an MPI system and so there will be no need for a stand alone injector and controller such as the MF2. This ecu has the facility to be re-mapped at home using the included Windows based software, a PC or laptop and lead whenever a new mod is fitted. This makes it far more flexable then an extra injector and driver.

Ready made loom to plug straight onto the engine and labeled wires to splice into car loom.

Modified manifold and downpipe(it will be possible to fit the standard oil filter!).

All req pipework.

Aluminium Intercooler.

Block with machined pistons, honed with new rings(on an exchange basis).

Air filter.

Braided turbo oil feed.

Modified sump.

Parts that will need to be found:

complete MPI 'Punto 75' Head(with inlet manifold, carb , fuel rail, injectors and regulator).

cinq/sei 900cc plastic carb cover.

Fuel pump.

T15 turbo(astra td).

New cambelt, headgasket and other parts needed when putting the engine back together.

I am putting a compelte kit together and fitting at the moment and will be trialing it on my own car before I even begin to start making any more as I want it to be right. The above list will get bigger and/or change as I do my own kit and find extra parts needed and/or a better way of doing things. If it all works out I will make 1 kit at a time to ensure I done fork out too much money with no chance of getting it back. The above will require the buyer to assemble the engine before fitting but I hope to make a comlpete engine ready to fit and go at a later date. I cant give a price until I have finished and tested my own car but I can say it will be cheaper than the VAD kit. I hope to develop a 16v kit but that is a way off at the moment.

What's the likely hood that this sort of kit could be used with a 1242cc MPI engine with a little extra development work? My problem is people seem to stop being interested when I mention MPI :( (though I will admit that I'm more looking at a supercharger than a turbo)

It could be used on a 1242 but you would need to have the pistons machined as the 1108 pistons are 70mm where the 1242s are 70.8mm so will not work. I have also been informed that the 1242 pistons dont have a enough metal at the top of the piston to allow enough metal to be removed-not sure if this is correct though. Why do you want to use a 1242? You could have a 1108 turbo easier. The kit I am hoping to produce will be MPI anyway so will take the power up slightly without needing to use a 1242.

yeah but more cc generally means more torque and power. I'm not sure how accurate this next bit on info is but I've been told you might be able to change the crank for a long throw item making the engine somewhere between 1300~1370cc with the CR naturally about 8.5:1.

Not sure on that...I think I looked at it (1108 crank on 1242) and it took SCR to around 6.5:1 which means it isnt gonna want to idle comfortably!
