My Fiat dealer told me the car I wanted is in the docks. So he cannot give me a date for me to pick the car up but generally it takes 10 to 15 days. So I've paid £500 deposit last Friday & its left that he will ring me 'early this week'. He said he was going to reserve the car on the system the minute I left.

Does this all sound normal, as I count early this week as ending Wednesday!!

It is normal, they can PDI at the docks and speed up delivery apparently. I have found that just aiming for sometime during the week for a call is difficult enough for them, actually narrowing it down to a specific part of the week is just foolish talk for a car dealer

So what does the dealer have to do with the car when they receive it? Just clean it up?

Service it, check it over, etc. Then register it and so on.

Still hasn't heard from the docks apparently. the car is reserved, but dealer has to wait for them to PDI it and confirm delivery to them.

Does the dealer actually bother to service it after PDI? Or do they just clean it?
