I've been going round in circles over this one, I'm wanting to replace the punto but never seem to work out what I want :(. I want to keep to fiat and as this car is gonna get used and abused something on the less than exotic side of life would be good. So what do you people think makes a good track car?...

*cough*

I'm looking for things like... "Seicento Sporting, it's light, fast, chuckable, easy to work on and parts aren't hard to get hold of"

Forgive custard he seems to be alittle on the happy side.
Well the best would be RWD,FR/MID Engine fast rev happy 1.8 min but the more powerful the better.
If you really want to stick with the fiat for reasonable money That would be tunable and happest on the track id say a coupe 2.0 non or turbo.
Dont get me wrong Cinqs would be reasonable on small tracks like Angul but with anything with a half decent straight etc ull wanna have something with a little more with something u can adapt cheapishly with good results.
Hope that helps

Tipo Sedicivalvole - It's lighter than a Bravo HGT and only a few BHP less. Already a racing version on the forum so hints and tips available for track conversion.

About best BHP/torque/weight available in the Fiat range without employing a turbo.

205 gti, small, light, cheap, nimble, pretty damn good as is.

check practical perfomance car, they are doing a race series with one, and don't seem to spending much at all, and parts appear to be relatively easy and cheap to come by

It's not a fiat though! He wants a Fiat!

spiritually it wants to be a uno tub, with all the attendant quality issues, sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and realise that cost and availablity will be an issue, and the road less travelled will be too much hassle
