Took some pics after installing one side of the HID kit. Admittedly both lights are out of adjustment so the Halogen sits much lower, but still, it's pretty obvious which is the better of the two








So, what with the nights closing in, they are a worthwhile purchase. Easy to install too

You can get a HID kit from about £80 now I think. I paid £130 delivered for the kit you see here, which carries a TUV certification.

but by the looks of it you might need them adjusting ... those critters are pigs for oncoming traffic when badly adjusted

but my halogen lamps look just like that, all i had to do was order high colour temp ones would like to go 10k HID though!

You won't get Halogen lights to be that bright. Maybe the same colour though.

You'll get the colour but you'll not get close for illumination...

when i put ring ultra xenon in mine they looked white compared to standard. but then when i put in hids they looked orange compared to the hid.

matt you get yours from the group buy? ive not seen no £80 ones all about £250-£400

Hi Dave, yeah I got mine from the group buy on Fccuk for £130 all in. I've seen them for less than this on ebay but they look really cheap and from China.

Yeah I'm really glad I didn't get a set from ebay, as one of the ballasts in my kit was duff. He's sending me out another, with no quibbles.

hmmm i'm tempted by some now. what colour temp are those ones you have. do they do main beam as well, or does the coupe not use H4's ?

the H4 kits do both beams, i got 1 h7 kit on mine need another if i wanted full beam, but ive not needed full beam since i fitted them they are the 6000k ones

The coupe is H1. They do all temperature colours in all sizes now. I went for the 6000K, the 4000K is the best match for Halogen though. over 6000K and the legality becomes dubious.
I would have thought that main beam halogen is a no-no, as you can't flash them like conventional halogens, making them dangerous. It takes a second for them to fire up see.

is this group buy still ongoing? my uni loan hasn't come thru yet, and I'm fed up of driving into stuff
I think mk1 puntos are H3 bulbs, so both high and low will be in there?

h4, being the proper jobs with high and low 'hid' elements.

still not quite figured out how this will work, as previously mentioned HID's take a while for the ballast to charge and the thing to come on, and they seem to flair up when they do, and then settle back down again.
how would it work to flash your headlights then?
as the evo website that these seem to be coming from says that both hi and low are HID elements, wheras other similar items are HID low, halogen high?

I sent em an email this morning, no reply yet

ooh will keep an eye on this one could do with them for the long dark winter nights
