I need to remove some C-clips on my hub. These arent Circlips (the things with the lugs that you fit circlip pliers to to remove) but basically the same thing and principle without lugs.

Its the clip that secures the wheel bearing and inner hub in place (very similar in design to a piston ring). Its basically a lugless internal circlip and its baffled me

Anyone know how to remove these?

Type A, Figure 1, has a C-Clip that sits in a groove inside the yoke to hold the bearing caps in place. These are removed by using a small tip punch or chisel to pop the C-Clips out.

Clever bugger

It worked too...Now I just need to devise a method of getting the wheel bearing out without using a conventional press (unless I modify my cider press if I still have it)
