I just thought I'd start a thread to find out what cars you've owned over the years. Below are mine.


1988 FIAT 127 1050 Sport My first car at 17.

1989 FIAT 127 1300 GT Superb car.

1990 FIAT Strada Abarth 130TC They don't make them like this any more!

1991 Lancia Y10 Turbo Never really fell in love with this one.

1992 Lancia Delta HF Turbo Intergrale The love affair began but was short lived because I joined the property ladder, so this car had to be sold, this hurt a lot and to date, it's probably the best car I have EVER owned. (could be nostalgia kicking in here)

1993 to 1997 Ford Escort 1.4 Popular These are what I call The Dark Years. Everyone has owned s**t in their time and this is mine, but I do have a valid excuse, I was re-modernising my house, I became a father and I simply couldn't afford a decent car, this was a family hand-me-down that served me well, it carried many products from Wickes and made lots of trips to the Householders Waste Site.

1997 FIAT Tipo Sedicivalvole A low mileage nice looking purchasing mistake, quick but totally unreliable, poor build quality, FIAT got it wrong here!

1998 FIAT Brava 1.6 16v SX Back on track, four years of trouble free, enjoyable FIAT motoring, albeit, in a five door version, yes, wife, babyseats, etc, you got it!

2003 FIAT Stilo Sport I like this one a lot, it's a three door which is back to the way I like it, just wish I could have afforded the Abarth!

Wow, you've had a heck of a lot of fiats!

I've had Fiat Uno 999cc FIRE when 17 (still own that now, sits in my garage not doing a lot)

Now I own Fiat Punto Mk1 60 Team.

and he said to his himself, "wow! what was that thing, it went like a blurr. I wish I had a Punto".

2001-2002: '91 Fiat Uno Formula 903cc...my dad's old work wagon, scrounged when I passed my test! Great 1st car, used next to no petrol, wasn't too slow for a tiny motor, and easy to work on. Sold it to a mate for £120 when it failed it's MoT...

In between the Uno failing it's test and the arrival of the Punto, I scrounged my mum's Daewoo Nexia [xx(] for a couple of weeks. Well, it's good points are it's got a huge boot, good aircon and it's not bad on motorways. Bad points? Don't even get me started...

2002-present: '94 Punto 55SX...well, it had to be another FIAT after the Uno! 'Leccy windows, foglights, proper interior...it felt like a Rolls Royce after the Uno and looks far better than the Daewoo. This one's got to last 'til I'm out of Uni in 2006 as I can't afford to replace it!

Also got a 2003 Merlin Malt 1 SE mountain bike (www.merlincycles.co.uk), that's my weekend toy [8D]

Fun While It Runs

Lets start at the very beginning.......

MG midget (early chrome bumpers and round arches)
Austin Allegro 1500 ohc (vastly underated and huge fun to drive)
Austin Allegro 1000 (rare late model with metro based A series motor)
Lada Riva 1200 (later to be 1600 and much fun when lowered and windows blacked out)
Vauxhall Astra 2door Estate (written of by a stolen Granada in Manc.)
Lada 1300 (Borrowed - quieter but had no guts)
Sierra Sapphire 1.8 (possibly the worst car I've ever owned)
Vauxhall Cavalier Estate (probably the most reliable car I've ever owned, Bought it with 80,000 on scrapped with 256,000 miles only ever cost mot's tyres and an exhaust, plus a couple of bulbs)
Then my current two Marea's
