These spark plugs make such a difference. It's a difference far better than just being new/fresh plugs.

Car is much more quieter, but more importantly goes through the revs much smoother. It flys !

Being platinum plugs they'll stay like that, and won't even need changing til every other service (about 15k miles for me).

Thoughts people?

Sounds interesting. The tighter the engine is controlled then the more important the 'little' things like spark plugs become.
I have just had a service so prob won't change mine again for a while.
I would be interested in how you think they are performing after 5k though.

I will keep you posted.

Little things matter a lot, yeah. Using Mobil 1 oil and premimum fuel (Ultimate/Optimax) all made significant differences for me as well.

I do servicing myself, and can get the parts really cheap, so it all works out pretty well for me :)

do it matter what car you put said platinum plugs on? ive got a 1.2 punto.
would it work??

im not to sure.

and he said to his himself, "wow! what was that thing, it went like a blurr. I wish I had a Punto".

I would class performance plugs in the 'squeeze the last bit out' finishing touches rather than main line upgrade.

If you need to buy new plugs then buy Platinum, as you may see a difference and they last longer than standard plugs. I think it would be hard to notice the difference unless the engine was tuned up pretty tight though.

As always if anyone thinks differently, please let us know.:D

Clayton, if you can get hold of a full NGK spark plug catalogue then it'll help. Basically, look up your car (Punto) and note the plug code down. Then in the key/index at the back match the codes to the ones relating to a platinum plug.

Another thing, for my car the NGK catalogue have the standard plug as '6' temperature. The Platinum's are '7', which is fine 'cos generally you can go 1 unit colder and being platinum it is very likely to be reliable. My startup from cold is harsher (revs higher than before), but the car actually warms up quicker and then it's fine (very smooth).

You should see a difference with platinum's regardless of car. The properties of platinum material for conducting are far better than (standard) copper.

Give it a go.
