I recently bought my wife a 595 abarth. I wanted the service plan but fiat wanted £989. Mopar wanted £649 for the same service and when I checked on line they had a special offer advertised. The offer was £300 off servicing if car purchased between certain dates which ours was.
Mopar have said o do not qualify for offer as I am not first owner. The car was purchased by fiat as a demonstrator but we bought it before anyone used it. We bought it from the showroom with 10 delivery miles and we were first to tax it.
They are standing firm and refuse to give me the offer. This is the 3rd fiat I have bought in 4 years and spent over £40k and find this shocking service.the garage I purchased the car from cannot believe the actions of head office. Probably the last fiat we will purchase

Ask them if they'd like some free advertising on BBC Watchdog. That sometimes rattles out some better results - or at least a compromise

I only rejoined this forum a couple of weeks ago correct but I was using this for quite a while under a username and password I could not remember so I made a new account
Furthermore we have owned fiat 500'a for the last 4 years and would have continued with fiat other than this problem.
An update the service manager is going to contact me friday to discuss so may get resolved by dealer.
I was actually asking for some advice as to who I should speak to next but typical of most forums you get one person that jumps down your throat.

Should have done your homework first on service prices
What did you expect for this car?

Good idea regarding facebook page
As for the should have done your homework comment..as our last fiat still had 2 years left they refunded me £200 as they said servicing was not transferable . They said that way I would only have to put the extra £100 towards it for the new car. Only when we went to tax car they asked if I wanted to include serving the we noticed it had jumped from £300 to £989. So as for doing my homework I can only go on what the dealership told me when I asked the question

It just looks to me that it’s a case of letting off steam from the OP, something we all do now and again on here. ;) things get lost in translation as well, you never really get the full picture at times, and the story comes out in dries and drabs, which happens frequently on here.

Just my thoughts. :)

Fiats attitude to new car customers stinks and this is yet another example of their whole approach to business basics. I tried to buy a Fiat service agreement and found out that the one I paid for was specific to the selling dealer. I am not even sure if the Fiat product advertised even exists. It shows at the least poor forethought and planning and actually puts me off buying again which like the poster is surely not what they originally set out to do. There was a lovely glossy brochure though.....

Having spoken to Fiat in Italy it seems Fiat UK may be the problem. Is is incompetence, stupidity or worse? The way dealers are treated by Fiat UK actually beggars belief and goes a long way to explain why people get disappointed. I personally would rather be offered nothing than deals and incentives that either don't exist, don't actually work or slip out of reach for reasons that seem feeble. If you ain't going to fit the floor mats; without a fight, for example, stop saying you will! Ditto selling cars advertised with higher powered engines that were discontinued before the special edition involved was introduced. (Panda Waze).

Moral of the story is read the brochures look at the pictures and only believe the things printed so small you cannot read them! Or, look at it like a lucky dip and gamble. If you get what you expected rejoice. If not remember it was your choice to gamble 10 or 20K! Alternatively buy Japanese or Korean but you didn't get that from me.

To the OP: Fiat are not alone in misleading customers like this.
When I bought my BMW in April 2017 it was a pre-reg with less than 20 miles on the clock.
BMW advertised a low interest rate and contribution with a PCP deal and my calculations suggested that this would be worthwhile. When they took me through the figures, the payback was much higher than expected and it took a while to understand that they were using the much higher interest rate reserved for used cars. (From memory, over 10% instead of around 2% and contribution).
It didn't help that the finance salesman was more interested in talking to his mate who was visiting the showroom.
End result was I used a personal loan, so they lost out on a more lucrative PCP, and I still bought the pre-reg which benefits from £30/year tax, compared to £175/year for a new registration. And the finance salesman got a poor review in the dealer's feedback form, which seems to carry a lot of weight in their pay reviews.

where? you didn't put that in your post at all. if you want advise you need to ask for it politely, we are not mind readers just forum members

It's a user name not a shared account and is the same as I use as an email address. I am the only person that logs into this forum not my wife. Not sure if Dave has had a bad day at work but it also mentions in the site rules about being friendly!!!
Ps just being friendly, pretty has two t's, suggests does not have an r and name has an m.
Hope the rest of your day improves!
