It's for a Alfa Mito, but same engine as the Grande Punto 1.4 16v.

Just under air filter box, part in yellow box.

Credit to RuSZ for photo.

Thanks

Do you need to replace the part..

Or just tracing a fault?

Charlie

The airbox had a broken lug, and the sharp end of that has split the hose, causing an erratic idle.
Taped it up for now. but it run worse and cut out at first, but the ECU "LEARNT" the new mixture requirement, and now runs perfect.

@shelleyamy
Is the picture your engine as it has a modified inlet.?
The poe indicated does not look like it needs to be a moulded part. A length of standard oil and fuel resistent hose (or coloured silicone) with a gentle curve should work OK.

Robert G8RPI.

No, its a photo RuSZ posted, but i will have to use a generic piece of pipe if can't find an original.
Would also be good to know what the "black box" is it connects to.

I had a long look a ePER the other day and I possibly found what this is.

However we need a full VIN or Type code and Chassis Number to nail the exact engine specifications.

Simple cc, no. valves, same as Punto is not going to help as there are MANY 1.4 16V Punto and Mito engines that are listed.

Thanks

This pipe goes to the LHS of that round black plastic component.

The question now is on the other side of that component is there another hose leaving it? Any hose could be possibly on the underside?

Also are there any wires going to the round black plastic body which looks like a diaphram of some sort?

not sure what its called but a 1.4 grande punto starjet has it and wont run right if you remove it. look around scrap yards for old grande puntos to find one.

when my pipe broke i used a longer bit of silicon hose as shot one would kink, it often split it the same place as yours. as it was a lot longer i could just snip the end off each time and re join it.

Thanks for all the help.

Looks like officially, it's all part of the intake manifold, not identifiable as separate items, not even the intake butterfly .

After a lot of googling, track it down to what alfaworkshop call "Flexi Hose. Manifold breather pipe" https://www.alfaworkshop.co.uk/parts/MiTo_Intake_manifold.shtml

or what 348azeus found from shop4parts (Ta) :INTAKE MANIFOLD BREATHER HOSE KIT" https://www.shop4parts.co.uk/?name=...erm=Fiat_Grande_Punto_1.4_16v_Intake_Manifold

Seems it could be a good place to look if you have any rough idling issues.

There are other pipes and wires, all connected (including the diaphragm) to the throttle body (butterfly?)
