Having problems with the van, it won't start. It will fire up and then cut out straight away.
Replaces the fuel filter and had the ECU updated, but still no joy.
When I try to turn it over the temp gauge goes daft making it look like it's over heating even though the engine is cold.

Hi I don’t pretend to know the fault but it might be a fuse for fuel /heater plugs or blocked fuel line / air getting in somewhere

Given the odd temp reading suggest a wiring fault. Probably a common wire (ground or 12V) causing several sensor issues. It would much help if you used Multiecuscan to perform an ignition on, engine off, diagnostic of any sensors or actuators it can. Worth also using it or a multimeter to check the 12v feed from the battery, and at some other place, i suppose if the alternator suddenly kicks out or drops too much voltage on start that would do odd things too.
A morning spent searching for and checking over all of the looms in the engine would be another option, especially under the headlight near the Ecu and in the big black box near the air filter. Good luck.
