Hey guys really stuck, my Fiat 500 mulijet diesel 1.3 2010
Never in collision suddenly messages popped up saying “ fuel cut off unavailable” & airbag lights showing. Also mileage is flashing & a few times got a message saying boot open ( not sure if that was me or it was popping open) don’t think it was me though
Any idea why this is and how to fix?
Thanks
Jay

It's an eight years old car so check all earth points on the chassis. The current return from everything goes by the chassis so high resistances due to corrosion (usually) will cause strange electrical issues.

The Punto Mk2/a had issues with under seat wiring connectors which would stop the airbags working. What's the betting the 500 has some of that DNA in its architecture. Worth looking under there. IIRC there were also problems with a connector behind the glove box but that's not raised it's head on Panda/500 models.

Thanks for reply, So you recommend checking the wires under seats are in properly?

Wriggled wires and checked they were secure, no change so far. Any other ideas? Thanks

Air bag faults latch and will not automatically clear when the fault goes away. IIRC, the connectors had to be cleaned and tightened then the codes had to be removed using MES. www.multiecuscan.net

But do note that I'm on about an older car. Other than Fiat not reinventing the wheel, there's no certainty the seat connector issue still exists. However the latched fault code is a safety issue so that won't have changed.

Boot open warning
Have you checked to loom going into the boot lid for damage?
A short in the wiring there can cause a lot of odd issue's
