Fiat couldn't find any fault codes what so ever. That's the head scratcher. I've rang them and asked if they actually tested the injectors to which I was told no. So they told me that the injectors were faulty and quoted me £1900 to replace without even testing them. They didn't even mention that they could or would test them. Just simply told me that they were faulty. I've rang a different fiat garage who stated that if they were faulty, there would be a fault code. Now I will have to get a garage to test them but if they come back fine, then what? I'm stumped, as are all the garages. Without a fault code, they can't seem to find the actual fault. This is why I'm suspecting ecu. If the injectors are acting in the same way fiat described, but they come back not faulty,it could be an ecu error as they control the injectors. I paid fiat £90 for a diagnosis and in return I got a print out of a diagnostics.

Local garage serviced and reset. No dash warnings other than when it regens and it sends my stop start haywire. engine turning off and on constantly. All garages are at a loss as there are no fault codes or warning lights.

North East England. Just been quoted £200 to test the injectors. Think I might be throwing good money after bad here.

I've had it 6 years. Was about 8 months old when I got it with 1 previous owner. 31000 miles on the clock.

so - what oil degradation index does the FIAT paperwork show?

that's the most common issue with regens, ;)
HP is one of the few FF regulars up in the North East,

maybe worth looking towards Yorkshire ( Scotland is an AC Minefield..)

they may know of a decent garage that actually have the right attitude AND kit.

as you've said you've already received contradictory advice from 2 x FIAT main dealers ( I bet they are "multi-franchise"..)

ok - not a horror story - that's good, (y)

so at what point did it become obvious there was a problem.

IF the injectors are dribbling / over fuelling it will poison the oil - same as failed regens.

the cause of the too frequent regens is the issue here for me.:bang:

as I said earlier this engine is in literally Tens of Thousands of small vans .. all doing our gas and electric servicing..;)

so there will be hundreds of garages around who've vast experience of these little Multijets.

and charging backstreet workshop prices.. not shiny showroom ones.

I will get the garage to check the oil for me while they check the injectors. I'll also ask them to have a look at my dpf filter while they have the car. Although the readings are ok (30%) it might be worth having a quick look at for any obvious faults. It's due it's yearly service in a few months anyway. Thank you.

Well I thought I had a full diagnostics report but it looks like it concentrated on the dpf, regen and injectors. So no oil degeneration reading. But I will have this checked.

You have been so helpful. Thank you. I will take your advice and let you know how it goes. Fi gets crossed somebody can get to the bottom of this soon. Honestly thought fiat would but...[emoji848]
