AGree with all the common stuff. Check the gears and synchro are all sound. CHeck air con all works and air directs as it should. Check rear spring seats look sound. CHeck driveshafts no vibration at speed particularly on moderate acceleration and no knocks and cluncks over bumps and when turning. Make sure all the electrics work test everything..

I have had several Fiats now and have driven over 300K miles with pretty well no issues at all. Cheap components and plastic parts on some models is irritating but basically I would not hesitate to recommend on reliability. It is the equal of VW group products in my experience. The difference being I would not so readily buy a VAG product because of expensive component failures. Alternator, turbo, wiring harness, peeling paint, suspension joints and wheel bearings failing long before I would expect. On the FIat so far..... nothing except EGR sticking issues. Can be cleaned with care and the right cleaner, so I really regard it as a maintenance issue.

Avoid badly serviced cars as ever and anything that looks neglected. I do nurse all my cars!
