Just heard of this car which is supposed to be in good condition, would make a good motor for my wife. Feeling happy to go and check it out mechanically but, the car has a glass roof. Don't know anything about this. Don't even know yet if it's fixed or opens. Anyone advise? Presumably humongous repair cost if damaged. Are they prone to cracking, leaking etc etc? Do they have drain channel/pipes which can block up? Do they "scare" insurance companies? Should I run as fast as possible in any direction as long as it's not towards it?Any advice at all on this greatfully recieved.
Regards
Jock.

Thank you George. That reference led me on to a lot of other useful posts! I think I'll probably go and give this car the once over but unless it's truly outstanding in all other respects I think I'm probably better to give it a bye. Rang my insurance company late in the day. They seemed a wee bit twitchy about it, saying they doubted if "windscreen repair" would cover it and they would give me a more certain quote if I got back to them with the reg no.
Thanks and regards
Jock

Hi,
Most insurers wouldn't cover glass roof panels under the windscreen section. If it's damaged you would need to claim as if it was a normal fault claim so you would have to pay your excess, possible loss of NCD etc.

Dan.
