1969 Italia Intermeccanica / Fiat

Help please. I am desperate to identify a Fiat part that is on my 1969 Italia Intermeccanica restoration. I must find the steering column mounted switch gear assembly (turn signals, etc). An arm and some of the internals on mine are missing and / or not capable of repair. If I knew the make and model I am sure I could find one, so perhaps someone here can identity this or even maybe a source.

I have scoured the internet over and over looking to see what make and model of Fiat it came on. It is definitely a Fiat part. If you look at the picture of the forward end of it, you can see that it is not round but D shaped, It indexes into a D shaped bracket stamped FIAT that attaches it to under the dashboard.
There must be hundreds of these out there from the late 1960s.

On the bottom are the following markings: (as best I can read them).
VITALONI BRATELLI
BREVETTO INTERNO
Torino

Photos attached. (one arm is missing from the unit shown)

Thanking you so much for your help.

Ron

The first picture is the badge of a Triumph. Like these.

https://www.canleyclassics.com/trium...olumn-switches
Could be from Herald, Vitesse or Spitfire of the same era as your car.

That means the switches could also be from the same models. The housing they are fitted in could be Fiat, but inside might not. Are the switches labelled Lucas?
Like these?

On the Herald and Spitfire, the two stalks operated the indicators, usually on the right, and the headlamps on the left. The headlamps were three positions I think, marker lights, dipped and main beams. And might be a flasher is pulled.
I've forwarded a link to my brother, he still has a Herald and so may recognise it better. Will report back if helpful.

Re: 1969 Italia Intermeccanica / Fiat

My brother has had a look at the remains of his Herald. The horn button is certainly a Triumph part, most likely Herald, but the switch is definitely not.

So we're back to your original assumption that the switches came from a Fiat of that era.

Probably a good idea to repost the original question in both '124 Spider (classic)' and the 'Other Fiats' sections, as those are where potential owners are most likely to see them.

My guess would be 124 Spider, as a similar concept.

I wish it was Lucas. I am quite familiar with most things Lucas. This is definitly an Italian made part as evidenced by the markings noted on it as detailed in my inquiry.
Thanks much for your help.

Re: 1969 Italia Intermeccanica / Fiat

I Googled Fratelli and unfortunatly a lot of hits but would only work for me I wanted a pizza. :-)
Actually, I am a bit hungry now so good post. :-)
However, you gave me a great idea. I will do a Google search for Fiat parts in Rome or Italy.

Re: 1969 Italia Intermeccanica / Fiat

Bang, I think I have finally found the Fiat model my part came on. Appears to be a Fiat 500 part. But it is out of stock and if found by the vendor will be over $500.00. Way out of my budget.

Does anyone have a domestic source or junk yard for used Fiat parts? Or an overseas source for this part, preferred used but can't be choosy.

Re: 1969 Italia Intermeccanica / Fiat

Two questions on using this site please.
#1 How can I add to my thread without posting a reply?
#2 I can obviously post an image when starting a thread. But I can't figure out how to post an image in my reply. Only choice seems to be to post a URL or some Google thing I have no images in and can't figure out how to insert them.

Aha, the paper clip exists if you use the replay button on the bottom left fut not if you use the one on the bottom right.
