fiat 500 1.2 pop engine stalled

HI I recently brought a 08 plate 1.2 pop and been OK starting driving etc until yesterday, the engine stalled as I was doing a three point turn and a message came up on the radio saying check cam lock and when I tried to start it turned over for ages before finally firing up and now I've got a engine management light on. Hope you can help.
Thank you

Re: fiat 500 1.2 pop engine stalled

Firstly, a few more details would help us help you.
Does it now run ok, or is it rough, low on power, noisy, or whatever.
When it stalled, did you stall it, or did it just stop running? Need to know really whether it stopped running gently, or if it was a bit violent, which may have caused a timing belt jump, or been a result of such.
How many miles?
Has the timing belt been changed, if so how long ago.
Ideally, now need the fault code read to help diagnose the fault.

Lastly, don't answer this here. Re-post, with the above details in the 500 section. That will draw a better audience to help.

Re: fiat 500 1.2 pop engine stalled

it's 9 years old .. so could realistically be almost anything.

a basic service is always a good thing,

if it's just had one..,
then worth checking the stored fault codes, then clear them..so any new issues are what you actually see.
