Btw,

Heidi Klum, Claudia Schiffer, Sandra bullock.... the latter being a stretch but was born to a German mother and raised in Germany.

Italian girls are too temperamental and unreliable.... like the cars

I seem to recall the girl in the advert pictured slaps him in the face.....

Oh and the actress in that add, Catrinel Menghia is Romanian

Point being, nothing made in Germany is any better due to the fact it's made in Germany.. 'German Engineering' = marketing gimmick.

The old Mercedes of the 80s and 90s, probably some of the best built cars ever made. Same with Volvo's from the same era. Volvos weren't from Germany.

Today's German cars are just as sh*te in many ways as the rest of the over complex crap people are buying.

Fiats are far more fun ;-) regardless of BHP or 'plastic quality'

Having owned Fiats since the 80s I think they've improved relative to other makes. But I agree - the main reason I enjoy driving them is they are fun, enjoyable to own. They also seem to have 'personality' - maybe easier to anthropomorphise than other cars for some reason...

JUST "a look"

there were German "reliability" surveys posted last year on here..,
far more useful..,

one with "warranty claims" as a percentage.. like yours ( probably...)

the other - similar format, but using COST of repair also..

anyway all WAAY

maybe start / resurrect a "why buy Italian Vehicles over others" thread

and HERE let people stick with WHY they got a FIAT..,

Charlie

Re: Why did you buy Fiat?

Made in Germany v designed in Germany? Where made not so relevant if the brand is in control of the quality.

Our Pandas were made in Poland, but contain Italian DNA and emotion. Most of the 500s were made there too.

Many BMW 3-series used to come from South Africa, as did Merc C-class.

I have a friend with a Honda Jazz, proudly bearing a plate stating made in China.
The Honda civic of course, is British!

South Africa?!

Isn't that where a significant number of former German military officers quietly relocated to after WW2?! Hmmmmm..

Lol.

Isn't the current Honda Jazz made in Swindon? Despite being Japanese designed. To be fair, the design must have more of an impact?

Re: Why did you buy Fiat?

The mark 2 Panda was Polish but I think the Mk3 is built in Naples. The European 500 is still built in Poland though - I think the TA engines are built there too.

Re: Why did you buy Fiat?

i Bought my first fiat in 2015, and it was a 500 Colour therapy, ive had fiestas, astras, hyuandai coupes, I always loved the retro styles of the 500, and whilst owning my 2010 astra i said if i ever buy another cay it will be a 500! the astra had issues and sadly had to go, so i did it and bought the fiat, had it a year and then changed to a 500 Lounge,
so the retroness , the fun to drive, small, nippy all i need in a weekend car, I also have a 1969 mk2 Cortina.
